The Cost of Courage Foundation
Art Therapy Program for Wounded, Ill, and Injured Veterans

The Cost of Courage Foundation is a proud to support the wounded, ill and injured Veteran and Military patients at the Palo Alto VA Polytrauma Rehabilitation Center, Blind Rehabilitation, PTRP, Spinal Cord Injury, and Addiction Recovery units.

On a monthly basis, The Cost of Courage Foundation sponsors an Art Therapy class where wounded, ill and injured Veterans patients get together to do craft projects and enjoy an afternoon of fun and relaxation. The Cost of Courage Foundation provides projects supplies and volunteer instruction for multiple projects. The projects are carefully planned, taking into consideration the physical limitations of the patients in attendance. In addition to providing stress relief and relaxation for the patients, the projects also increase dexterity and support the ongoing rehabilitation efforts of their existing care team.
For every class, The Cost of Courage Foundation provides a snack and drink for the patients. For holiday months, we also decorate the craft room for an additional boost.

We are grateful for the continued support of VA Recreational Therapy and Nursing staff in ensuring the success of this program.

We would like to thank everyone who has donated in support of our VA Family Support Programs! Your contributions have such a positive impact on our Veteran art therapy participants.
